Meet Wenlock and Mandeville!


You might be asking yourself, “Where did they get the idea for these crazy looking mascots for the 2012 Olympics?”  The mascots, both the Olympic and Paralympic mascots were unveiled in May earlier this year. Created and designed by a London based company, iris. The two represent a steel drop from the steelworkers in a small town of Bolton. Named after the town that held a forerunner of Olympic games, Much Wenlock and the precursor to the Paralympics, whose facility helped organize the Stoke Mandeville Games, Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
